Name: Stuart Low Number: 6 Nickname: Lowey, Girlyman, Manchild, Stewy Griffen, Rowey. Games: Sponsored By: Honour Board: Premiership Team Favorite Old Ivanhoe Moment: My favourite moment would have to be the day Chanz Crowley went toe to toe with Murray Pitts from Beaumaris in the goal square. It was one of the most vicious acts I’ve seen in 15 years of football. Chanz headbutted Murray’s fists 12 times in the space of 30 secs. Poor Murray was just trying to protect his face with his hands but Chanz continued to pummel them with his face until his eyes were black and his cheekbone was broken. It’s probably the hardest thing I’ve seen in football since Peter Caven headbutted Tony Lockett’s elbow in a similar act of on-field aggression. Player Anthem:
I think you’d be hard pressed to find a better song than 1985’s monster hit “We built this city” by Starship. I find nothing gets the blood pumping before a game more than lyrics such as, “Knee deep in the hoopla sinking in your fight Too many runaways eating up the night Marconi plays the mamba, listen to the radio, don't you remember We built this city, we built this city on rock and roll ….its a pity this profile doesn’t allow pictures or I would show you the goosebumps on my arms right now. Wow, what a song. Most Annoying Team Mate: Luke Bolzan Funniest Team Mate: Jarrod Gieschen or Tilt Butler Celebrity Crush: Natalie Portman. I would love to meet her one day.Although you should probably substitute the word ‘meet’ with ‘watch her get undressed through a darkened hotel window with a pair of powerful binoculars’ A Coach Once Said: “I’m going to burn down the clubrooms!”
Sadly it wasn’t part of a rousing 3 Qtr time speech but rather the ramblings of the recently sacked Reservoir Colts Under 9’s coach who was literally threatening to burn the club rooms down. The match committee had decided to sack him mid-year after deciding that being drunk in front of 8 year olds was not the image they were trying to convey. Understandably the team failed to fire under the guise of a caretaker coach and we finished middle of the road.
