Match Details
Split only by percentage before Round 6, Old Ivanhoe headed to the top of the ladder Mazenod’s Home ground for what proved to be Old Ivanhoe’s hardest opposition of the season to date. Both teams were solid defensively and through their midfields, sharing the centre clearances evenly throughout the match. The difference was on scoring ability, when Old Ivanhoe had momentum and consecutive fwd entries, they were unable to damage Mazenod. Conversely, when Mazenod went forward, they looked dangerous and were able to convert a greater amount of their entries than Old Ivanhoe.
Encouraging signs for Old Ivanhoe, however, to get to where they desire to be, higher conversion of forward entires will be required. An increase in forward pressure the first task to address in Round 7 vs Fitzroy Away.
