The Reserves also had a very disappointing loss. We also went into this game confident of a good result given the very easy win over Old Camberwell in an earlier practice game.
After opening up an early lead and looking by far the superior side, perhaps over-confidence crept into the team as they had no answer to Old Camberwell who rattled on six unanswered goals either side of half time. Too often there was a lack of preparedness to run back when possession had been lost allowing Camberwell to transfer the ball forward with superior numbers. Old Camberwell ended up comfortable 5 goal winners 15.9.99 to 10.9.69.
Dominic Pierri was best afield, his second “best-on” in 3 games. Michel Altis was solid down back all day, ably assisted by Matthew Martin who continues to do all that is asked of him by the coaching staff. Josh Begeman was as desperate as ever and Alex Bacskos was the major possession winner around the ground. Seamus Gibbs showed flashes of brilliance over the 4 quarters as well.
