Old Ivanhoe vs Hampton Rovers (Reserves)

The Reserves were facing third placed Hampton Rovers who sat in 3^rd place on the ladder with a 5:1 win-loss ratio a game behind OI.  Given the injuries to the Senior side, a number of in form regulars had been promoted to the Seniors and this was always going to be a difficult game.

Kicking with the wind, the boys opened well and led by four goals at the first break.  Hampton, however came back hard and booted five majors in the 2^nd quarter, whilst holding us goalless, to lead by six points at the main break.  At ¾ time the margin had been reduced to 3 points.  Hampton,  kicking with the breeze in the last quarter added three goals and ended up 18-point winners 9.8.62 to 6.8.44.

The undermanned outfit battled hard all day against quality opposition and we look forward to the return of several important players over the coming weeks to strengthen the side.  We remain on top of the ladder with a 6:1 win/loss ratio, ahead of Hampton by percentage.

Anthony Stenta, Cam McIlveen, James Kandiliotis and Andrew Paine all continued their excellent vein of form.  Cam Snodgrass was also a fine performer all day and Tom Spinks, returning after injury was also excellent.  Michael Bacskos, in his first game for the year was a welcome addition to the team.  Welcome back Mick!  Ash Steer with 2 goals continued his fine season and Anthony Stenta also slotted through 2 majors.
