Match Details
A disappointing loss to Mazenod has set back the Seniors amongst a pack of teams on 4 or 5 wins , though they still retain fourth spot and a healthy percentage .
In slippery conditions, OIG always seem to be playing catch-up football, as Mazenod from the first term on managed to score one or two goals extra each quarter to eventually win by 25 points.
Will Gough in his 100th game continued his great form and gave tremendous drive from the flanks, Seamous Gibbs, Max Jones, Jackson Powell and Trent Crouch held their own on the ball , Jack Welham kicked 3 goals despite Mazenod`s disciplined defence that otherwise made scoring difficult all day, and Brandon Lee made a return to the seniors after injury and held his own in the ruck and up forward. Missing big men Captain Mal Mitris and fullforward Hamish Shepheard , OIG surely missed having these central corridor players and this counted against them in finding a direct way into the forward line .
Next week we’re away against Hampton Rovers.
