Match Details
As for last week, the reserves side looked particularly strong with a number of 1sts players from last year, bolstered by the inclusion of Jordan Stanton, an unlucky omission from the winning senior side last week. Unfortunately, the conditions were atrocious, in particular during the 2nd half when driving rain and hail arrived.
Williamstown played the conditions superbly and like the Seniors were prepared to run hard to get behind their OI opponents. Leading at every change, Williamstown ended up reasonably comfortable winners 6.16.52 to 4.6.30.
Jordan Stanton revelled in the heavy going to be best afield and Trent Marshall continued his excellent form from last week. Matthew Martin, another member of last year’s U19s Premiership group impressed and Callum Matheson played his usual tough mid-field role. Robbie Glavas was a beacon up forward and Liam Oliver was a welcome addition to the side down back.
