Match Details
Saturday saw the boys line up against a strong uni blues side, a side in which we’ve had a lot of close games with in recent history. Last year saw us draw with them and also win by 1 point. We knew we’d have a battle on our hands all day.
In what was not the best football conditions out at Crawford oval the boys fought all day, It was a tight battle that saw the boys hold a small lead for most of the day. The last term saw uni blues kick a few quick goals to take a two goal lead. In a huge last effort to pull off the win the boys dominated play to get the score all tied up. But with all the momentum the final siren beat us and it was a draw again and another great battle between to very talented sides.
The boys had their chances with 6 more scoring shots and a game like this really drives home the fact of having to make every opportunity count. Special mentions go to Alex mirkov who was best a field in a dominate ruck performance, he’s come a long way since this time last year. Another who had a huge game and stepped up when the game was in the balance and took two clutch marks in the final term for us was Jacob Agrotis who I’m sure will get senior opportunity in the not to distant future.
